What is Shotokan Karate?

Shotokan karate is a style of karate.
Karate means empty hand and karate-do translate to the way of karate. Shotokan Karate is use of arms and legs as controlled weapon. Techniques include punching, striking, kicking and blocking, there is a deeper aspect to serious karate training which deals with character development.
Shotokan karate is a way for an individual to realise greater potential and expand the limits of that individual physical and mental capabilities.
Karate is time proven and method of personal development. Shotokan karate remains as a strong martial arts emphasising lifetime training for a healthy mind and body, rather than strictly as a sport.
