Description
Trail Rides and Riding Lessons

Shepherd's Fold Stables is situated in the beautiful Elandsdrift Valley, just a stone's throw away from Fourways, and bordering the Cradle of Humankind.

We are open 7 days a week including most public holidays for trail rides.
Booking is essential. We do have a weight restriction of 90 kg for trail rides and 80kg for riding lessons.

TRAIL RIDES
We offer a variety of trail ride options to allow visitors to explore our amazing landscape on horseback and we are well equipped to accommodate riders of every level and experience. All rides are supervised by experienced trail guides and beginners or advanced riders are welcome. Grooms can be made available to lead the horses for the more nervous riders. We have a variety of beautiful routes available for our trail rides for 1 hr, 1.5 hrs or 2 hrs in duration for all levels of experience.


RIDING SCHOOL
Our riding school offers lessons to all ages and skill levels. We cater for beginners, young and old and offer pony rides for 3-6 year old children.
Our lessons are designed to teach the basics of riding, whilst having fun. Lessons are taught in a controlled environment with an experienced instructor. All of our instructors have Level 1 First Aid certificates

PONY CAMPS
For all pony lovers! A day of fun and friendship for children aged 8 to 14 years. Riding lessons, trail rides, pony games, and much, much more.

PONY PARTIES -
We arrange pony parties for children at the stables for all kinds of wonderful horsey fun. This includes mounted pony games, pony rides, treasure hunts, mini trail rides, and more.

    Welcoming to all!
    Riding at Shepherds Fold Stables has been a true delight. I’ve stabled my horse with them for 5 years and the attention to detail that the instructors and the owner give to training is impeccable! It’s very difficult to find a good riding school and livery where the people pay attention the smallest details and make you feel like family. I highly recommend them to anyone that’s looking for place with people that genuinely love horses and care about you as a client!

    Such a stunning ride, the staff was friendly and the ride itself was breath taking, being in the bush just minutes from Johannesburg. The horses were sweet and my kids enjoyed every moment. Thank you.
