Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC) is a faith-based non-profit childcare organisation based in Langlaagte, Johannesburg whose passion is to ensure the optimal development of traumatised children in need of care. AKC provides residential care and community care around Gauteng. AKC’s main priority is to shelter, care for and rehabilitate children between the ages of birth and 18 years old who have been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty and neglect. AKC runs 9 children’s homes and carries out 4 community care programs that provide food, pastoral care, remedial care, social services and skills development services. AKC also provides 3 educational programmes including the Emdeni Skills Development Centre, Impact School and Johanna Malan Early Childhood Development Centre.
