National Families week: Kids Activities and clubs
Go back to list
National families week this year will be held from Tuesday 15th May to Monday 21st May 2012. These dates coincide with the UN International Day of Families on Tuesday 15th May.
As families Australia stated "Families are the foundation for shaping children’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. A child’s earliest learning experience happens at home, with family. Families give children a sense of belonging and of self-identity and provide a network of support for children as they grow.
National Families Week is timed to coincide with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15 May. This day is observed by the United Nations to mark the importance that the international community places on families as the most fundamental units of society, as well as to show concern about their situation in many parts of the world. The United Nations theme for the 2012 International Day of Families is Ensuring Work Family Balance.
Work Family Balance - what an idealistic aim. Don't get me wrong - It would be fantastic. However, who actually knows a family that has a work, life, family balance?
I for one do not and I am sure the few of us that do manage to achieve this are not under the same financial constraints most of us operate within.
Families Australia has a huge calendar of Events organized for each State in 2012. Which I am sure are fantastic family and kids activities.
If you can't get to any of these events, start at home. Get the family out & about doing a healthy activity together. After all we do need to start somewhere and home is the best place. For idea's on all family and kids activities check out The ActiveActivities directory.
Have Fun Kids.
