Rude and unprofessional

22-01-2016 by Zaakira

I spike to Tasneem (the principal) on 21 Jan 2016 as I would like to view the school. I was told that I can not come. I can only come on 27 January at 7:30. I was told that teachers are teaching and I can not come. I think that the point of going to see a school is to see how they are teaching as well as the classroom environment and if a parent is not allowed to look I believe that is very scary and worrying what you are hiding!! The manner in which I was spoken to was very unprofessional and rude. I will not send my child to your school.

Answer from Sandton Montessori Pre-School on 31-01-2017:
I will take the time to respond so that whoever reads can understand why we do our tours at 7.30am. I am sure this was explained to you when you called to make the appointment. All tours are done at 7.30am. Our school opens at 7.00 and by 7.30 half the children are already at the school so you definitely are able to view the teaching and learning at the school. We have recorded cctv footage of every area of the school so we have absolutely nothing to hide. Between 7.30 and 8.00 we do one tour a day. We do this so that the parents are able to observe and feel the school and ask questions. They get the indivudual tour so that can make an informed decision. Unfortunately we were fully booked until the 27th. Safety is paramount at the school, and we don't have people wandering through the school randomly in the day. The parents who have enrolled their kids at the school can vouch for all of this and obviously their values fit in with the ethos of the school.
